Brunello Poggiarelli
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
Grape Variety
100% Sangiovese
Terroir
The vineyards are located on the south-eastern slopes of the Montalcino hill, an area particularly suited to viticulture thanks to its excellent sun exposure and naturally ventilated, dry climate. The soils are predominantly stony, providing excellent drainage and encouraging balanced vine growth and grape ripening. These conditions contribute to wines of elegance, concentration, and remarkable aromatic expression. The vines are trained using the spur-pruned cordon system, a cultivation method that allows careful yield control and enhances grape quality.

Wine Making
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature between 28 and 32 °C, with skin maceration lasting 20–25 days in order to achieve an intense yet balanced extraction of color, aromas, and tannins. The wine then undergoes 24 months of ageing in 5-hectoliter French oak tonneaux, approximately 25% of which are new, while the remainder are first-, second-, and third-passage barrels. This ageing process enhances complexity, structure, and elegance while preserving freshness and territorial expression.
