Brunello
Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
Grape Variety
100% Sangiovese
Terroir
The vineyards are located in the southern area of Montalcino, on gently sloping hillsides with predominantly south-west exposure, ensuring excellent sunlight throughout the day and promoting balanced grape ripening. The soils are deep and well-structured, of volcanic origin, rich in rocky particles, silica, and traces of cobalt, characteristics that contribute complexity, minerality, and depth to the wines. The vines are trained using the spur-pruned cordon system, a cultivation method that allows careful yield control and enhances grape quality and concentration.

Wine Making
Fermentation takes place in open truncated-conical tanks at a controlled temperature of approximately 26 °C, with frequent punch-downs and a maceration period of around 20 days, allowing for optimal extraction of color, aromas, and tannins. During fermentation, macro-oxygenation and the inoculation of lactic bacteria contribute to the wine’s balance and complexity.
The wine is then matured for 24 months in 50-hectoliter French oak barrels, followed by a minimum of 6 months of bottle ageing before release, allowing it to develop harmony, elegance, and depth.
